I just started a fantastic new metadata job, but sadly could not attend Henry Stewart DAM NY this year.
Thankfully, Emily Kolvitz was there and offers this wonderful recap.
The takeaway that is most relevant to my day-to-day right now is in regard to AI and cakes from Monica Fulvio, director of taxonomy and metadata at National Geographic.
She described the concept of an automatic cake with manual icing meaning that while artificial intelligence can save a lot of time tagging, that human governance and oversight is a crucial element that remains.
And, I, like Emily, really actually enjoy tagging assets for now. It’s kind of Zen…
